Munich Airport (MUC, Franz Josef Strauss) is Germany's second largest hub and, for many long-haul and US routes, the closest alternative to flying out of Prague. Prague to Munich Airport by train or bus
There is no direct rail service. Trains from Prague to Munich main station take about 5.5 hours (a direct Express with a change is planned but not consistently running), coaches take around 4.5 to 5 hours to Munich's central bus station. From either station the S1 or S8 suburban train needs a further 40 to 45 minutes to the airport. Count 5.5 to 6.5 hours in total and plan a generous buffer for the connection.

When to leave Prague for a flight from Munich
